Is Putin the Next Hitler?

Once again, the writers over at Capitol Hill Daily bring up an interesting comparison. Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, is using a pre-war strategy directly from Hitler’s playbook. Thanks to Obama and his vacillating, weak-willed foreign policy, Putin has no respect for the power of the United States nor our allies. He believes he can do as he wishes and we can do NOTHing about it. Truth is, as long as King Obama and his democratic led congress is in power, Putin pretty much CAN do as he chooses. And he knows it. We are on riding the rails to World War III people. Wake up and pay attention. —  Stonebear 3-11-2014

On March 5, 1946 – exactly 68 years ago to this day – Winston Churchill gave one of his most memorable speeches in Fulton, Missouri on the campus of Westminster College.

The World War was over and Churchill, now in private life, was reflecting on the new order that replaced Hitler. Here are his most famous words, from what many call his greatest post-war speech:

“From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic an iron curtain has descended across the Continent. Behind that line lie all the capitals of the ancient states of Central and Eastern Europe. Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest and Sofia; all these famous cities and the populations around them lie in what I must call the Soviet sphere, and all are subject, in one form or another, not only to Soviet influence but to a very high, and in some cases, increasing measure of control from Moscow.”

This iron curtain held strong from 1945 until 1989. Ronald Reagan is often credited with implementing a daring strategy to coax these nations from the grasp of the Soviet Communists.

Once the Soviet Empire was removed, it was only a matter of time until the entire Soviet system, which depended on the slave labor of surrounding countries, totally collapsed. Soviet Communism was then thrown into the trash bin of history.

But today, the Russian bear is once again on the move. Vladimir Putin, who fancies himself the modern equivalent of an ancient Russian czar, is slowly expanding the Russian sphere of influence.

History Repeats Itself

Today’s crisis in Crimea appears to have much in common with the Sudetenland crisis ignited by Hitler in 1938.

The Sudetenland is the German name used to refer to the northern, southwest and western areas of Czechoslovakia, which were mostly inhabited by German speakers. After the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of World War I, these areas – specifically the districts of Bohemia, Moravia and German-speaking parts of Silesia – were given to the new country of Czechoslovakia.

Then, during the height of the Sudetenland crisis, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain met with Adolf Hitler in Berchtesgaden and agreed to concede Sudetenland. No Czechoslovakian representative was even invited to these discussions.

And Hitler, who was aiming to use the crisis as a pretext for war, demanded the immediate military occupation of the territories. This put the Czechoslovak army in an indefensible position. Months after Hitler took the Sudetenland, he conquered the balance of Czechoslovakia.

Chamberlain’s name and legacy will, for all of history, be equated with appeasing Hitler. Chamberlain refused to stand up to Hitler early and, as a result, Hitler came to disrespect the resolve of the Western European powers.

Obama is Our Modern Chamberlain

Right now, Putin seems to have an attitude that is equally cavalier toward the Western powers. Putin just ignores Barack Obama, John Kerry, David Cameron and anyone else trying to maintain the current borders in Eastern Europe.

Of course, Crimea does have a Russian-speaking population that’s voted repeatedly to be closely aligned or even integrated into Russia. (Much like the Germans in Sudetenland wanted to be in Germany.)

The question for all Western leaders to contemplate is: What happens if Putin decides to take the balance of Ukraine the way Hitler took the balance of Czechoslovakia?

If Putin stops at the border of Crimea, not much will happen. Barack Obama will likely appease Putin and acquiesce to Russia’s annexation. But if Putin, as the czars before him, wants the entire Dnieper River under his control, then the darkness of war will descend across the old continent.

Only then will we know if Crimea is Obama’s Sudetenland.

Are We on the Brink of War?

This article came to me from the desk of John Williams at the Capitol Hill Daily e-Letter. It lends serious credence to the ongoing concern that King Obama may very well be leading America down the burning path to its own destruction. Why else would he take actions to reduce America’s military to its lowest level in 50 years? Is he preparing the country for a fire sale? Is he preparing to sell it to the highest bidder? I’m no financial genius, but china comes to mind. If not them, who then is he preparing it for?

Here’s the article:

Over the weekend, Russian President, Vladimir Putin, sent about 6,000 naval and airborne troops into the Crimean Peninsula in neighboring Ukraine. Official reports are that Russia has secured “complete operational control” of the surrounding area and will be strengthened by reinforcements as the week progresses.

Meanwhile, both NATO and the United States have condemned the Russian military actions. The United States has even suggested that it might respond to Putin’s aggression with economic and political sanctions.

But I can’t help thinking… so what?

The truth is that nobody is willing to call a spade a spade in regards to Russia’s actions, and nobody is willing to do what needs to be done.

You see, when one nation sends unrequested troops onto the soil of another nation, there’s only one word that properly describes that move: invasion.

And that’s just what Mr. Putin has done. He sent Russian military troops into the territory of another sovereign nation – which is an invasion, plain and simple. But the U.S. media and the U.S. government refuse to call it as much, referring instead to Russia’s actions as merely an “incursion.”

This may seem like semantics to some people, but what I see… and what other countries such as China, Iran, North Korea and Russia see… is a clear message that American foreign policy is weak, that the U.S. government won’t respond to violence against its allies or, in fact, any threat to global stability.

Weakness in the Past Predicates Weakness in the Future

So why does Putin feel confident enough to invade a neighboring country that also happens to be an ally of the United States?

Because comrades Kerry and Obama have shown him, through both their words and actions, that they’re too weak to punish any subversive actions.

Obama and Kerry have formed a mountain of false threats, but they’re unwilling to take a firm stance against despotic leaders and downright bullies like Putin. Essentially, the executive branch of the U.S. government has turned the most respected and feared nation in the world into nothing more than a cuckold.

The president has abandoned parts of the U.S. missile defense system in Europe, reduced our nuclear capabilities and cut our military strength through his sequester. And by making secret deals with the Russians in a vain attempt to appease Putin and his comrades, the president and Mr. Kerry have proven that U.S. foreign policy is a joke.

Meanwhile, John Kerry continues making toothless threats and spouting rhetoric that harkens back to the days when he refused to support American troops fighting and dying in Vietnam.

All of this adds up to one thing in the eyes of our enemies: a weak America.

Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) put it best when he said that this is “a dangerous message to send to the world. When the United States is weak, freedom around the world suffers.”

Well put, sir!

And in my own humble opinion, it’s time for our leaders to either put up or shut up.

Can We Avoid World War III?

Here’s the bottom line: America can’t stand by and watch the world fall into chaos. And America’s leaders can’t continue to hobble our once-powerful country with meaningless rhetoric and ineffectual foreign policy.

If we continue down this path, thugs like Putin will push the envelope until there’s no other recourse besides World War III. Let’s hope that we haven’t already gone too far to avoid such an outcome.

If there’s any hope, then America must show the world that it’s not as weak as it seems. And that takes more than words. It takes action.

“Why Did You Have to Kill My Son?”

“You bastard Americans!” His mother screams. How could we kill kill her son? It was intentional, for sure and certain. It couldn’t possibly have been to protect innocent Americans from further harm. After all, all he did was set off a few bombs in the crowd at the end of the Boston marathon. What’s the harm in that? All he did was mercilessly kill three people, including an 8 year old boy. All he did was injure and main well over a hundred people with his stupidity. Oh, they’re just boys being boys. But you had to kill them for it. “We never should have emigrated to America 10 years ago.” She said. She’s right. Then they could’ve been dressed in proper Al Qaeda hoodies when they toted the backpacks into the crowds to blow people up. Then maybe folks would’ve spotted them.

Sick bastards.

Now their old man is coming here to get the truth.

Truth is, you didn’t raise your boys right. You didn’t teach them that killing innocent people is WRONG.

With that in mind, maybe it was wrong for the cop to kill the kid. THat’s a moral dilemma for another time, another blog. But he did deserve it for what he did. So to All you Al Qaeda moms and dads out there – suck it up, shut up and teach your kids better. Maybe you won’t have to learn what it feels like to outlive your children.

Welcome to Stonebear’s “Crazy World of Hours”

Welcome to Stonebear’s  This Crazy World of Hours blog. Honestly, I started this blog out of pure morbid fascination and sheer daily, stomach wrenching dread of the absolutely insane happenings in the world today. I guess I have some small right to speak since my birthday is 9-11 and ‘Osama’ chose my birthday to fell the great towers back in 2001. My 40th birthday by the way.

Now the whole Muslim extremist world runs around acting like morons, screaming, ranting and raving how they hate Mickey Mouse, Old McDonald’s Duck, and that Snow White is just one of the 72 virgins waiting for them when they die. More than likely, Snow White will be the only 72 year old virgin waiting for them when they die.

That’s just a joke, people of the Islamic faith. Get over it.

Take a moment and think. How ludicrous would it be if we got to the Pearly Gates and told the Supreme Being, whatever you call him (or her) that our world ended cause some dude with a cartoon movie trailer pissed off some dudes with no sense of humor and they ended up blowing up the world with a shitload of homemade dirty bombs? lol. That’s what Susan Rice said anyway. We all know better now of course.

Once again on the same auspicious date as that chosen by the late, deep-sixed former leader of the defunct clan of hillbillies known as al Qaeda. They’re all going around tearing ass through American embassies, on American soil because they don’t think we have the balls to do anything about it. Well, apparently my Muslim infidels, the Americans are showing you how much tolerance YOU should be exhibiting as a true Muslim when you are attacked. You see it as weakness when you should be accepting it as turning the other cheek. But there will come a time however, very soon, when the cheek gets red,  swollen, bloodied, and stinging, and marked with little fingerprints that the Grizzly that is America will turn and face you, reach out with its 4 inch claws and take a powerful swipe at you, gouging a deep swathe out of your narrow ass, leaving you bloodied and wondering what the fuck just happened.

Wake up and straighten up. Get your act together. Time is running out.
